In Memory of Cecile Patterson

Our dear friend, Board Member and Theatre Chair, Cecile Patterson passed away on August 21, 2017 peacefully in her sleep. Cecile was a loving mother, grandmother, and a great friend.  She will be missed.

She worked tirelessly for the Foundation for many years to support those affected with IBD which included her dear friend, Judy Saphi. Even after Judy’s death she kept on helping through her annual journal solicitation and leadership of the Theatre Club up until a week before she passed.

Team Challenge Saratoga and Napa-to-Sonoma | July 9 and 16, 2017 | $100,000

This July, the NYC teammates ran the Saratoga half marathon and the Napa-to-Sonoma half marathon after weeks of training and fundraising. Congratulations on crossing the finish line and raising more than $100,000 for cures!

Nationally, Team Challenge raised over $2.3 million to help fund the increasing number of amazing mission programs we conduct! Even more impressive are the 32 Team Challenge Champions, including our own Charles Rand, Ben Goldenberg, and President and CEO, Michael Osso, who went above and beyond their fundraising minimums, raising an average of $17,047 each, and collectively raising over $545,500. Mike McCready, the lead guitarist of Pearl Jam and a Crohn's patient, was Napa's inspirational Pasta Party speaker and half marathon participant.

Beyond the 13.1 miles, it is an incredible journey for patients and their loved ones - from the very first training to the last walker crossing the finish line through a tunnel of orange & blue cheers. Visit to see videos from the events and learn about Team Challenge.
