2023 Community Impact Award

For several decades, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation has been awarding individuals throughout New England with the organization’s Community Impact Award. The award is given to honor community leaders who are making a difference in the world. 

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation New England Chapter is thrilled to honor Jody Kipnis and Todd Ruderman with the 2023 Community Impact Award. Jody and Todd's deep roots in Greater Boston have shaped their commitment to giving back to their community. Jody was raised in Malden, while Todd grew up in Lynnfield. Jody, a dedicated mother of two children, has always emphasized the importance of community involvement and service. She understands the significance of creating a positive impact on the lives of others. Todd, a father of three, has spent decades honing his business acumen as a successful real estate developer, investor, and manager. His professional expertise, combined with his personal dedication to philanthropy, has uniquely positioned him to make a positive impact in the community. 

Jody and Todd's shared passion for making a difference is evident in their current involvement with creating a Holocaust Museum and educational center in Boston. They believe that this will serve as a catalyst for social change, fostering a more inclusive, understanding, and compassionate society for generations. Their joint vision, rooted in their experience and shared values, serves as a driving force behind their efforts. 

Additionally, Jody and Todd have been committed to raising awareness and support for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation for many years. Their personal connection to the Foundation deepened when Jody's son was diagnosed with both Crohn's and ulcerative colitis in 2018. Through their involvement, they actively contribute their skills, resources, and time by providing support to affected individuals and families, advocating for better treatment, and raising funds for critical research.
