How Is Your Support Making a Difference?
We're excited to share promising updates from our ongoing work! A recent study of our Urgent Care Toolkit—developed alongside GI providers in our IBD Qorus® network—confirms that it’s making a real difference for people living with IBD. IBD Qorus is the Foundation’s national quality improvement program, bringing together gastroenterologists from across the country to share successful strategies and deliver better care. After IBD Qorus providers began implementing best practices from the Urgent Care Toolkit, patients within the program saw emergency visits reduced by 51% and hospitalizations fall by 57%. The toolkit enables doctors to quickly identify and support those at highest risk, helping to prevent crises and stressful hospital stays. Your support makes innovations like these possible, helping us expand life-changing solutions and empower patients with greater control and peace of mind. Together, we are building healthier futures for everyone living with IBD. Thank you!

New Global Guidelines Offer Clarity on IBD and Pregnancy The first-ever global consensus guidelines for IBD and pregnancy have been published in the Foundation’s Inflammatory Bowel Diseases® journal. These updated recommendations give women with IBD and their care teams clear, trusted guidance to support a healthy pregnancy and baby. Key highlights include: continuing biologic medications safely during pregnancy and breastfeeding, having preconception counseling for all women, considering IBD pregnancies as higher risk, using low-dose aspirin to help prevent preeclampsia, and making sure infants receive their recommended rotavirus vaccines—even if they were exposed to biologics before birth. This global, patient-focused effort—shaped by 50 experts from around the world—provides reassurance, practical answers, and hope for families navigating pregnancy with IBD.
