IBD Pro | Applications Now Open for GI Fellows!
Published: December 1, 2025
IBD is a core part of gastroenterology—but not every fellowship program offers the depth of exposure needed to feel confident managing complex disease. The Visiting IBD Observership (VIBD) Program was created to close that gap.
Applications are now open for the Fall 2026–Spring 2027 cycle.
Who This Program Is For
The VIBD Program is designed for 2nd- and 3rd-year GI fellows who:
Want stronger clinical exposure to adult or pediatric IBD
Train at programs without dedicated IBD curricula or high IBD patient volume
Are interested in IBD care, regardless of plans for private practice or academics
What Fellows Gain
Selected fellows spend one month at a leading U.S. IBD center, observing expert clinicians and multidisciplinary teams managing complex IBD. The Foundation covers most program-related expenses, including travel and accommodations.
Past participants consistently describe the experience as career-shaping—strengthening clinical confidence, expanding professional networks, and, in some cases, opening doors to future roles in IBD-focused practices.
Apply by February 20, 2026!
The VIBD Program is highly competitive and space is limited.
