Surgery Research Network

The Surgery Research Network (SRN), established in 2017, is a consortium of more than 60 research centers dedicated to expediting clinical studies in IBD patients undergoing surgery. The focus of this network is to address important clinical issues that can advance the surgical care of IBD patients.

The Surgery Research Network is a standing committee of the NSAC comprised of the SRN Co-Chairs, voting site-PI members, the Director of Quality of Care and Clinical Research Programs, the Chief Scientific Officer at the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and the Chairperson of the NSAC.

Annual Meetings

The Surgery Research Network shall meet as often as necessary, but at least twice a year, typically at the Crohn’s and Colitis Congress and at DDW or ASCRS. In addition, the SRN shall meet on the call of the Chairs, as needed. A quorum for SRN meetings shall be defined as 50 percent of its membership. A majority of members present and voting shall decide any issues on the agenda.

Institutional members are independently administered primary centers consisting of hospitals, medical centers, research institutes or community practices, or a group of such centers which have developed an IBD related research program approved by SRN and administered by a site Principal Investigator.

To become a member, please complete a membership application on the “Get Involved” section of this website. The Chairs will review applications and approve qualified centers. For any questions, please contact Schantel Williams at [email protected]
