Efficacy
The ability to produce a desired result or effect.
Enema
A procedure in which liquid or gas is injected into the rectum, typically to empty the bowels. It may also be used to deliver medication.
Enteral Nutrition
A nutrient-rich, liquid formula that is taken by mouth or through a feeding tube that goes into the stomach or small intestine.
Esophagus
A tube inside the body that connects the mouth to the stomach.
Explanation of Benefits
A statement sent by a health insurance plan detailing what medical treatments and/or services were paid for on behalf of the covered individual.
Extraintestinal manifestations
Signs, symptoms, or complications of IBD that occur outside of the gastrointestinal tract such as arthritis, eye inflammation, or skin rashes.
