,Limited human data; No adverse effects or risks in animal studies.
Limited data from published literature suggests that ustekinumab is present in human breast milk.
Common side effects include: vomiting, nasopharyngitis, injection site erythema, vulvovaginal candidiasis/mycotic infection, bronchitis, pruritus, urinary tract infection, sinusitis, headache, abdominal pain, influenza, fever, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea.
Rare side effects include serious infections, increased risk of malignancies, hypersensitivity reactions, reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (this is a reversible syndrome that can include headache, altered mental functioning, seizures, and loss of vision), and non infectious pnuemonia.
