Nutrition

Malnutrition is common in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). The goals of nutrition therapy are to maintain or restore nutritional balance, a key principle in the overall management of IBD for many patients. Every effort must be made by healthcare professionals to consider diet and nutrition as an important part of patient’s IBD management, and provide individualized care based on patient need. The resources provided here are designed to educate medical professionals about nutrition and IBD based on evidenced-based research.

ECCO-Foundation Transatlantic Talking Heads video series

Watch the latest in the series of Transatlantic Talking Heads, a joint collaboration of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the European Crohn’s & Colitis Organization:

How to best utilize telehealth

The spread of COVID-19 has necessitated healthcare providers to rapidly adapt to provide remote care to patients staying home due to travel restrictions, fear of person-to-person contact, or need to self-isolate. After a year of adjusting to how to interact with patients when not face-to-face, this activity will provide skills to help clinicians educate their patients about inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the treatments used to mitigate progression in order to optimize outcomes during the pandemic and beyond. This case-based CME activity will deliver three tele-medicine patient experiences in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis to help clinicians learn how to best utilize telemedicine to diagnose and continually manage their patient populations remotely. View the activity here!
