Meet Volunteer Halie St. Sauveur

Halie St. Sauveur

Halie St. Sauveur was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 12. As a newly diagnosed teen, Halie kept her disease a secret from those around her. But now, 16 years later, Halie has become an advocate in the IBD community. Halie helps other patients with their ostomy bags and injections, and even recruited a few to join her at the Western Mass Take Steps walk!

Halie has overcome many obstacles throughout her IBD journey and is proud to be the team captain of Game of Crohn’s, one of the Top Fundraising Teams for Western Mass Take Steps.

“After being diagnosed, I started to realize my normal was not the normal of everyone I was in school with. I grew up trying to hide and suffer in silence. I felt all by myself and that no one understood me. Take Steps brings everyone together, including people who have the same experiences. I’m proud to take steps for a cure, for young kids who are being diagnosed and going through extensive testing, for the caretakers who dedicate everything, and for doctors and nurses who bring patients into a place of remission.”
