Meet the Group Facilitator

My name is Whitney Walker and I am your Spokane Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group Facilitator. I am currently a student going to college through Eastern Gateway Community College to get my AA. I am wanting to pursue careers in both counseling psychology and youth ministries.

I currently volunteer through a program called the CIRV (College in Residency Volunteer Program) at a state facility with developmentally disabled adults. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2014 during my sophomore year of high school and have had ups and downs with it ever since. Living with IBD and continuing to live a normal life has always been a struggle for me. I always felt like no one really understood what I was going through, which led me to want to start my own support group so that others too could have a place where they felt they would be understood and people would relate to what they are going through. This support group is a safe place where people can share their stories, ask questions, and make friendships that will last forever. Hope to see you there and I look forward to meeting you!
