Volunteer Week 2021- Meet Doug Diamond

Its #TakeStepsTuesday, and we want to introduce you to today’s Volunteer Spotlight, Doug Diamond! Doug has volunteered with the Georgia Chapter for 6 years since his son’s diagnosis.
Knowing that the ultimate goal of the Foundation is to find a cure for IBD, but until that day comes, supporting the development of treatments, and supporting the lives of patients and families as they deal with their illness is Doug’s top priority. Doug works to ensure that the Georgia chapter can continue to provide the great support to those dealing with IBD so that there is a reliable source of information and community to help them address their needs.

Doug’s vision of a future free of IBD is very important to him. “I would be able feel more relaxed knowing that my son's future would be less clouded by the need to be on medication or deal with other possible impacts of Crohn's. I would also know that future generations would not need to worry about an IBD diagnosis.”

On his bucket list, Doug lists seeing the Northern Lights, his first job was at Arthur Andersen, and he’s got a secret talent that he’s keeping tightly hidden under wraps! Doug, thank you for everything you do for Take Steps and for the Georgia Chapter!
