Help Make #IBDVisible For Awareness Week
“But you don't look sick.” This phrase is all too common for 1 in 100 Americans living with the invisible symptoms of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, collectively known as IBD.
Together, during awareness week, you helped Make #IBDVisible by spreading the word and accelerating research on behalf of millions of adults and children living with IBD.
Gavin makes #IBDVisible. Congratulations to our 2023 It Takes Guts Winner!
Gavin was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at age 5. At age 6, he attended his first Take Steps for a Cure event! By age 7, he was asked to be the guest speaker at a Toast for a Cure in Tampa, Florida, and A Night of Hope Gala in Orlando, Florida. Every year, Gavin grows his Take Steps team, Braver Than Most, by connecting with other local pediatric IBD patients and has raised over $70,000. He has spoken several times on local news broadcasts advocating for Take Steps for a Cure. Gavin is a true rockstar and advocate for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
