Behind the Scenes of the We Can't Wait App: Our Chief Marketing Officer's Story

Our Chief Marketing Officer Judy Hoffstein knows what it is like to urgently need to use a restroom but not be able to find one. After being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when she was 23 years old, she spent decades with her IBD not well-controlled. When she joined the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation in 2018, she had the chance to make a difference for fellow IBD patients. Last month, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation launched its Open Restrooms Movement, and its centerpiece, the We Can't Wait app.
In a new blog post for the Association of National Advertisers, Judy shares the behind the scenes story of how the app came to be.
"It's beyond gratifying to see that the cumulative experience I've gained over the years, from direct response marketing to product development to developing new technology strategies and platforms – can now so clearly be leveraged to provide direct benefits to a patient community that I care deeply about. But we're just at the beginning of our journey towards building increased disease awareness and familiarity," Judy shared.
