Recommendations for breastfeeding

No information on presence of this medication within human breast milk. Tofacitinib was found present in milk of lactating animal models. Breastfeeding while taking this medication is not advised.

Most common side effects

Common side effects may include infections in nose or sinus, headache, nausea, diarrhea, rash, throat irritation, high cholesterol, gastroenteritis, anemia, upper respiratory infection. Risks of lymphoma and other cancers are rare.

Other

Patients should be tested for tuberculosis prior to starting tofacitinib. Avoid taking live vaccines while taking tofacitinib.
