Power of 2
The Power of 2 program provides one-on-one short-term support to patients and their families coping with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Individuals participating in the program are matched with volunteers who have had similar challenges and experiences for phone or e-mail conversations. This program is open to adults with IBD as well as parents of children with IBD. We are working to expand this program to serve spouses of people with IBD. If your spouse is an IBD patient and you are willing to be a Power of 2 volunteer, we would love to hear from you!
Request Support
If you would like to participate in the Power of 2 program, please complete the appropriate form and email us or mail it to:

Volunteer with the Leadership Board
Board members are asked to support the organization in many ways including financially, by supporting various Chapter events, such as Take Steps or special events. Board members also advance the mission of the Foundation by increasing awareness, building relationships, and increasing volunteer engagement. Board members should serve on at least one committee. There are typically five Board meetings per year, held in the evening.
Join a Special Events Committee
We are looking for assistance on a special event committee. In addition to planning and developing ideas for events, we’d like assistance finding and soliciting sponsors, as well as office assistance the days and weeks leading up to the event and on the night of the event.
If you have other ideas of ways you'd like to volunteer, please contact us at (914) 328-2874.
Workplace Giving
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Greater New York Chapter is a member of Community Health Charities. Employees of corporations, federal agencies, and state and municipal governments nationwide have the option to give to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation through Community Health Charities. Our CHC identification code is: 44159. Look for our name and agency code in your company campaign. If you don't find us, please ask your employer to add Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
If you would like information on how to bring Community Health Charities to your workplace, please contact Lisa Harding at [email protected] or (914) 812-8999.
Honor a Loved One With a Tribute Donation
Making donations on behalf of or in memory of others is a meaningful way of recognizing commitment to an important cause. You can make a tribute or memorial donation and have us send a tribute card (suggested minimum donation $25.00). Your tribute gift can be mailed to our office at Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Connecticut/Westchester Chapter 3010 Westchester Avenue, Suite 106, Purchase, NY 10577 Attn: Lisa Harding or charged to a credit card by contacting Lisa Harding at lharding@crohnscolitisfoundation.org or (914) 812-8999.
Be an Advocate
Advocacy is a major component of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation’s mission. Our advocates are not only patients, but family members, friends, caregivers, and doctors who want to make their voices heard and see a future free from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Young Professionals Group
If you're a young professional (all ages welcome, really) living, working and/or studying in Connecticut or Westchester (Rockland, Putnam, or Dutchess Counties) in New York with a connection to IBD, join us!
We are building a Young Professionals (YP) Group for patients and their YP friends, family and allies. The YP Group is a place for Young Professionals in our chapter area to connect, build relationships, find support and socialize together. This group is newly established in March of 2020 and over the next year, we hope to coordinate some in-person social and educational events for members.
Please join our Facebook Group to begin meeting other young professionals in our area and stay up to date on events and mission information. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]
