Signature Foundation Programs

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation doesn’t simply provide funding to scientists studying IBD. We also play a key role in producing and accelerating research through several signature Foundation programs that are helping to advance the entire field and bring us closer to cures.

IBD Plexus®

IBD Plexus® is the Foundation’s revolutionary platform that redefines how the IBD research community studies and discovers game-changing therapies.  Through IBD Plexus, researchers have access to hundreds of thousands of biosamples, and millions of datapoints, including insight on patient experiences, that can provide a more complete understanding of the disease and take years off the research process.

IBD Qorus

IBD Qorus is our quality-of-care initiative that fosters shared decision-making between patients and providers. It also provides data and insights for participating gastroenterologists who are striving to provide the best possible care to their patients while also testing ideas that may one day help people with IBD everywhere.

Research Cohorts

We are spearheading four large observational research studies that are following specific groups of patients for extended periods. They include:

  • SPARC IBD, which has enrolled and follows thousands of adult IBD patients and collects biosamples (blood, stool, and intestinal cells) from them
  • CAPTURE IBD, which enrolls and follows children with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and aims to advance precision medicine (in which treatments are tailored to individuals)
  • IBD SIRQC, which is enrolling and following adults who are undergoing IBD-related gastrointestinal surgery through the procedure and beyond
  • MyIBD Health Study, our new patient registry to launch in 2024.
