Letter from our Executive Director
Dear Morgan,
I hope you’ve been enjoying your summer, and staying hydrated during these heat waves! If you’re looking to jazz up your water intake, try the Lemon Cucumber Mint Infused Water from the Recipe Finder or one of many hydration powders available commercially.
There are some great options for summer cooking, too—I’m excited about the Fresh Herb Pesto and the Bruschetta Chicken (but I’ll use the barbecue instead of the oven!).
To make sure you’re keeping cool, you might consider a cooling rag, which is widely available online or in stores. Staying indoors during the hottest parts of the day is key—if your house isn’t air-conditioned, you can always try the public library.
And remember, when you’re out and about, the We Can’t Wait Restroom Access App can point you towards the closest restroom, or you can even use it to scope out where you’ll be headed!
In this issue of the newsletter, we have information about our advocacy day (the sign-up deadline is Monday, so don’t delay if you’re interested!); our Labor Day Fun Run; new Humira biosimilars, and a fundraising match. Thank you for everything you do to support the Foundation and IBD patients!
All the best,
Morgan Pulleyblank
Executive Director
P.S. Thanks to Sara Herring for the tips on beating the heat with IBD!

Join us at Virtual Day on the Hill!
Help us make a difference in the fight against Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by telling your legislators how important IBD access to care is to you. We invite you to submit an application to join us virtually for our annual Day on the Hill on Tuesday, September 19.
We will pair you with a team of local advocates and provide virtual trainings to give you the tools to meet with with key legislators in the House and the Senate and discuss the importance of patient access.
