MyIBD Learning: Indianapolis & IBD Pro: Indianapolis
Were a Success!
Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, and presented at our education events. This was our first in-person event in 6 years and was a great success bringing over 65 attendees together! The day was filled with IBD experts sharing their knowledge with our IBD community on new medications/treatment, diet/nutrition, mental health, surgery, pediatric care, etc. We even had a professional development session lead by Dr. Fisher and a local patient for our healthcare professionals.

THANK YOU TO OUR SUPPORTERS!

How IBD Patients Define Remission
We're excited to share with you the results of a new Foundation study that sheds light on how patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) understand remission. This research reveals important insights that can help healthcare professionals collaborate with patients on their care.
The study found that while 67% of patients believe remission is possible, there is variation in how they define remission. Most commonly, patients associate remission with reduced or absent symptoms, which differs from the medical definition that includes factors like inflammation levels. Encouragingly, patients reported open communication with their healthcare providers about remission, which is a critical step in shared decision-making.
