Overview

The Young Professionals’ (YP) Committee is a working committee of young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s who further the mission of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

The goal of the Young Professionals Committee is to increase awareness of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis among young professionals and the IBD community overall, to raise funds to find a cure for these diseases, and to provide quality education and support services for patients.

What We Do

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s D.C., Maryland & Virginia Young Professionals Committee offers an opportunity to get involved as an emerging leader supporting the mission to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the lives of those living with IBD.

As a community of DMV-based young professionals, patients, caregivers, and allies, we come together to support one another while raising awareness of IBD through fundraising, education, and advocacy.

The Committee offers members the opportunity to contribute in ways that are meaningful to them. We welcome a wide range of skills and interests—from event planning and fundraising to communications and networking. Through this work, members can build valuable experience while helping advance the Foundation’s mission and supporting the broader IBD community.

Meetings

The Young Professionals Committee meets regularly to connect, share updates, and collaborate on upcoming initiatives and events. Meetings provide an opportunity to meet others in the IBD community, learn more about the Foundation’s work, and get involved in projects that support fundraising and awareness efforts.

Newcomers are always welcome, whether it’s your first time joining or you’re looking to get more involved. Meetings typically include time to connect socially, introductions for new attendees, and discussions about current and upcoming opportunities to support the Foundation’s mission.

Meetings may take place virtually or in person depending on the time of year and planned activities.
