Dr. Abraham's Story

Being a part of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's visiting IBD Fellow program was an integral part of my career success.

I was able to get the opportunity to see how IBD care took place at an established IBD center with resources in place.  I took that back and created two IBD centers with the knowledge and experience and modelled them centered on patient care with a fantastic team within our institution.  

The Visiting IBD Fellow Program provided me not just clinical knowledge, but also practical information on what was needed to create an IBD center of excellence, the resources needed to set up a program, and how to make it successful. 

I learned how to balance clinical care with the academic side of research and teaching through this fellowship.
